The astrology of April 2025
Since 2011, Neptune has been in Pisces, amplifying some of Pisces' worst tendencies: confusion, addiction, illusions, and distortions of reality. In other words, we have been asleep in the poppy fields. In 2023, Saturn entered Pisces, attempting to cut through the Neptunian fog with some clarity. Neptune’s influence has been like a mesmerizing show, urging us to ignore the man behind the curtain.
Now, Neptune has finally left Pisces, and Saturn can reveal the deceptions and fantasies under which we've been living. This will be a collective wake-up call, as well as a personal one. We've all been misled in some aspect of our lives since 2014, whether it's been by cable news, close friends, or perhaps a Facebook friend who turned out to be a bot or maybe lured by clickbait on YouTube.
Neptune entered Aries, the sign of conflict and war, on March 30. It has not been in Aries for 150 years and will remain there until 2038. We may find ourselves dragged into conflicts based on falsehoods, not for the first time, or perhaps we'll fight for our beliefs. The last time Neptune was in Aries was in 1861, during the Civil War. Neptune can romanticize the notion of a noble battle. With Mercury entering Aries on April 15 and Venus on May 1, expect an increase in martial energy, hinting at both wars and rumors of wars. In our personal lives, it's time to act on our beliefs.
While Neptune is in Aries, it will sextile Pluto in Aquarius, offering you a chance to empower yourself through technology and/or the arts. Be ready to seize opportunities as they arise.

The turmoil of the last ten days of March will continue into the first twelve days of April. By mid-April, the chaos will lift, and we'll wonder why we felt so unhinged. However, the end of April might be turbulent again.

Mercury and Venus have been retrograde for the last three to four weeks, causing complications, delays, and mishaps, though this has also forced us to slow down. On April 7, Mercury turns direct, followed by Venus on April 12. This will help clarify our values and the information we receive. It’s time to take action. Relationships will become clearer, and a surge of creative potential will be unleashed as Mercury and Venus interact.

Apr 4 – Mars Trine Saturn at 24 degrees of Cancer/Pisces. You may be optimistic about a job that requires concentration, experience, and manual proficiency. Your desires are grounded in reality. Plan to get a lot accomplished today.
Apr 6 – Venus Trine Mars at 25 Pisces/Cancer. This is a positive aspect that can solidify your relationships and also help you make a plan for your financial security.
Apr 7 – Venus Conjunct Saturn at 25 Pisces. You get serious about your finances today. Also, this aspect could bring in a wise older man that you could have a mature relationship with.
Mercury turns direct at 25 Pisces. Finally, I feel that the Mercury retrograde that started last month on March 15 was a tough one. I’ve heard from a lot of people who had internet outages, lost papers, and couldn’t find their keys. All of Mercury’s dirty tricks.
Apr 12 – Full Moon at 23 Libra. This Full Moon squares Mars in Cancer. We may feel emotional today and easily triggered, especially in our home.
Venus turns direct today at 24 Pisces. Venus turned retrograde last month on March 1. During this time, you may have had old flames pop up. You may have had to reassess your values.
Apr 16 – Mercury enters Aries until May 10. You could become impatient, quarrelsome, and opinionated now. But on the plus side, you could be admired for being open and honest.
Apr 17 – Mercury Conjunct Neptune at 0 Aries. The news will be full of scandals and conspiracies. Try not to get caught up in it all. Your mind is fuzzy enough already with this aspect. Look to see where the first 3 degrees of Aries fall in your birth chart. You will feel confusion and suffer from unpleasant beliefs in those areas covered by the house and any planet it touches.
Apr 18 – Mars enters Leo until June 17. Mars is very happy in Leo. Your actions are full of self-confidence and a bit theatrical. You take a direct approach to going after what you want. The focus will be on being visible, on the royalty and we may see more fires.
Apr 19 – Sun enters Taurus until May 20. Nature shows its glory. It’s time to sit back and enjoy the blossoms and flowers. Taurus is a much slower-moving sign than Aries. So take advantage of this month to step back and enjoy the beauty around you. Establish a steady rhythm between work, play, and rest.
Mars Trine Neptune at 0 Leo/Aries. Your energy naturally flows into relaxation, music, and a sense of intuitive freedom.
Apr 20 – Sun Square Mars at 0 Taurus/Leo. Mars can get his dander up during a square. Treat people with kid gloves. Use this energy on individual work, don’t depend on anyone, and ask no favors.
Apr 23 – Sun Square Pluto at 3 degrees of Taurus/Aquarius. This is a similar aspect to the 20th. Use self-control when dealing with others. Mars is an irritant; he just gets angry, but Pluto is manipulative and controlling. Be careful.
Apr 24 – Venus Conjunct Saturn at 27 Pisces. This transit is an opportunity to solidify relationships and projects that are built on realistic and solid foundations. It encourages a more mature approach to dealing with the pleasures and challenges of life, using the wisdom and sensitivity that Pisces offers, bringing a sobering and stabilizing influence to relationships, finances, and personal values.
Apr 26 – Mars Opposite Pluto at 3 Leo/Aquarius. This is the dominant aspect in the second half of April. We had this aspect at the start of November 2024 and the 1st week of January 2025. It can be an explosive time. We will feel this from the 22nd to the 28th of April. We may see intense power struggles and conflicts. Mars in Leo wants recognition and creates a strong desire for individual expression. While Pluto in Aquarius wants deep, sometimes radical changes that serve the common good.. Leo is the King, and Aquarius is the people. We will witness this tension between self-interest and the collective well-being.
April 27 – New Moon at 7 Taurus squares Mars at 3 Leo and squares Pluto at 3 Aquarius. This is a dynamic configuration fraught with tension and potential for transformative change. This alignment brings to the forefront the need for stability and comfort (Taurus) while being challenged by the assertive drive for recognition (Mars in Leo) and the profound urge for reform and revolution (Pluto in Aquarius). Such a configuration may stir up issues related to security versus change, and personal desires versus collective needs, prompting intense emotional responses and power struggles. It's a time that may test your resolve but also offers opportunities for significant personal and collective growth.
OUTER PLANET TRANSITS FOR APRIL 2025
JUPITER is in Gemini until June 9, 2025. This month, he will move from 15 to 21 degrees of Gemini. Jupiter is the big, fat, happy guy who is expansive in everything. In Gemini, he expresses his talent for speaking, learning, teaching, and writing. It also indicates a growth in your beliefs and your goals. Until July 11, Jupiter will bring good luck and opportunities to the house containing Gemini.
SATURN is in Pisces until May 26, 2025. This month, Saturn will move from 24 to 27 degrees of Pisces. Saturn rules your material world and especially your career. If you have the ascendant or any personal planets anywhere from 22 to 29 degrees of Pisces or Virgo, you may be in store for some hard lessons about the issues in the house containing Pisces and or Virgo. Pisces is a creative dreamer. While in Pisces, Saturn will solidify your dreams and fantasies. On the world stage, Saturn in Pisces can result in our institutions dissolving and the old systems breaking down while new systems are being built.
URANUS is in Taurus until August 2025. Uranus will move from 24 to 26 degrees of Taurus this month. This is the time to break loose and radically change your life. I believe in ‘cooperating with the inevitable.’ If you have Uranus in a challenging aspect to your ascendant or personal planets (22 to 28) degrees of Taurus or Scorpio, go on an extended vacation, preferably to somewhere you have never been. Or make some significant changes in your life. Taurus represents the earth. Expect news about farming, food, earthquakes, volcanoes, tornadoes, or other major weather changes while Uranus is in Taurus.
NEPTUNE is in Aries until March 2039. This month, Neptune moves from 0 to 1 degree of Aries. If you have the ascendant or personal planets anywhere from 29 degrees of Pisces to 3 degrees of Aries, you may lack focus during this time and want to daydream. Beware of a betrayal, a disappointment, and a sense of drifting. Neptune can also bring artistic, musical, and creative expression, increased dreams, and spiritual insights. You may let go of feeling like a victim while Neptune was in Pisces and decide to take charge of your destiny.
PLUTO is in Aquarius and stays at 3 degrees this month. Pluto grinds away at your psyche, bringing up all sorts of complex psychological issues. You should run to your nearest therapist, especially if you have the ascendant or personal planets anywhere from 1 to 5 degrees of Aquarius. Pluto asks what needs to die to be reborn.
